Car Tire Inflator Pump Teardown359
In this article, we will be taking a look at the disassembly of a car tire inflator pump. This pump is a portable device that can be used to inflate tires on cars, bicycles, and other vehicles. It is powered by a 12-volt DC power source, such as a car battery. The pump uses a piston to compress air and force it into the tire.
The car tire inflator pump is a relatively simple device. It consists of a few basic components, including a motor, a piston, a cylinder, and a pressure gauge. The motor is responsible for driving the piston, which in turn compresses the air in the cylinder. The compressed air is then forced out of the cylinder and into the tire. The pressure gauge is used to monitor the pressure of the air in the tire.
To disassemble the car tire inflator pump, you will need the following tools:
Phillips head screwdriver
Flat head screwdriver
Allen wrench
Once you have gathered your tools, you can begin the disassembly process.Step 1: Remove the battery cover.
Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the pump. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the battery cover in place. Lift off the battery cover and set it aside.
Step 2: Disconnect the battery.
Disconnect the battery from the pump. There will be two wires connected to the battery. Use the flat head screwdriver to pry the wires off of the battery terminals.
Step 3: Remove the motor housing.
Locate the motor housing on the side of the pump. Use the Allen wrench to remove the four bolts that hold the motor housing in place. Lift off the motor housing and set it aside.
Step 4: Remove the motor.
Disconnect the motor from the piston. There will be two wires connected to the motor. Use the flat head screwdriver to pry the wires off of the motor terminals. Remove the motor from the pump housing.
Step 5: Remove the piston.
Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the piston in place. Lift out the piston and set it aside.
Step 6: Remove the cylinder.
Use the Allen wrench to remove the four bolts that hold the cylinder in place. Lift out the cylinder and set it aside.
Step 7: Remove the pressure gauge.
Use the flat head screwdriver to remove the pressure gauge from the pump housing.
Reassembly
To reassemble the car tire inflator pump, simply reverse the disassembly steps.
Troubleshooting
If you are having trouble with your car tire inflator pump, there are a few things you can check:
* Make sure that the battery is properly connected.
* Make sure that the motor is properly connected to the piston.
* Make sure that the cylinder is properly connected to the pump housing.
* Make sure that the pressure gauge is properly connected to the pump housing.
If you have checked all of these things and the pump is still not working, you may need to replace one or more of the components.
