Step 1: Cut out the fabric.

Cut out two rectangles of coral fleece fabric, each measuring 12 inches by 18 inches.

Turn the fabric right side out and press the seam flat.

Step 4: Fold the fabric in half.

Fold the fabric in half lengthwise, matching the short edges. Press the fold flat.

Sew the top of the hat, catching the folded edge in the seam. Leave a 2-inch opening in the middle of the seam for the earflaps.

Step 6: Insert the earflaps.

Fold the earflaps in half and insert them into the opening in the seam. Sew the earflaps in place.

Step 7: Finish the hat.

Sew the opening in the seam closed. Press the hat flat and enjoy your new baby coral fleece earflap hat!

Tips:
For a warmer hat, use a thicker coral fleece fabric.
For a more decorative hat, add embellishments such as buttons, sequins, or ribbons.
This hat is also a great way to use up leftover fabric scraps.
