Abbreviations:* ch - chain
* sc - single crochet
* hdc - half double crochet
* dc - double crochet
* trc - treble crochet
* sl st - slip stitch

Pattern:Hat Brim:
1. With MC, ch 4 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
2. Ch 1 and work 12 sc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of the first sc.
3. Ch 1 and work 2 sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st to the top of the first sc. (24 sc)
4. Repeat Row 3 once more. (48 sc)
Hat Crown:
1. Ch 1 and work 1 sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st to the top of the first sc. (48 sc)
2. Ch 1 and work 2 sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st to the top of the first sc. (96 sc)
3. Repeat Row 2 once more. (192 sc)
Wheat Ears:
1. Switch to CC and ch 6. Join with a sl st to form a ring.
2. Ch 1 and work 12 hdc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc. (12 hdc)
3. Ch 1 and work 1 hdc in each hdc around. Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc. (12 hdc)
4. Repeat Row 3 three times more. (60 hdc)
5. Ch 1 and work 1 hdc in each hdc around. Join with a sl st to the top of the first hdc.
6. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Pull the tail through the loop on the hook and tighten to close the hole at the top of the wheat ear.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 to make 11 more wheat ears.
Earflap Lining:
1. Switch back to MC and ch 5. Join with a sl st to form a ring.
2. Ch 1 and work 12 sc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of the first sc.

Assembly:
