Step 1: Knit the Crown

Now that we have the brim of the hat complete, we can begin knitting the crown. To do this, we will simply continue knitting in the round, using the same knit stitch pattern that we used for the brim. As we knit, we will decrease the number of stitches in each round to shape the crown of the hat.

To decrease the stitches, we will use the following method: K2tog (knit two stitches together) and then slip the next stitch over the two stitches that you just knitted together. Repeat this process around the entire round, until you have decreased all of the stitches.

Continue to decrease the stitches in each round until you have only a few stitches remaining. At this point, you can cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches to close the hat.

Step 2: Make the Earflaps

Now that the crown of the hat is complete, we can make the earflaps. To do this, we will need to cast on 20 stitches for each earflap.

Once you have cast on the stitches for the earflaps, you can begin knitting in the round, using the same knit stitch pattern that we used for the brim and the crown of the hat. Knit for about 15 rounds, or until the earflaps are the desired length.

To finish the earflaps, you can cast off the stitches and weave in the loose ends.

Step 3: Attach the Earflaps

Once the earflaps are complete, you can attach them to the hat. To do this, you will need to sew them onto the sides of the hat, just above the brim.

You can use a simple whip stitch to attach the earflaps. To do this, simply insert the needle into the edge of the earflap and then into the edge of the hat. Pull the yarn through and then repeat the process until the earflap is securely attached.
