Instructions

Brim



Chain 60 or until the chain measures 15 inches.
Turn and single crochet into the 2nd chain from the hook and each chain across.
Chain 1 and turn.
Single crochet into the front loop only of each stitch across.
Chain 1 and turn.
Repeat rows 4 and 5 until the brim measures 4 inches from the beginning.

Crown



Join the yarn to any stitch on the last row of the brim.
Single crochet into the same stitch.
Half double crochet into the next stitch.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 around the brim.
Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.
Chain 2 and turn.
Half double crochet into each stitch around.
Join with a slip stitch to the first half double crochet.
Chain 2 and turn.
Continue working in half double crochet until the crown measures 6 inches from the beginning.

Finishing



Fasten off and weave in loose ends.
(Optional) Make a pom-pom and attach it to the top of the hat.
