Materials:* Fabric for the outer and inner layers (fleece, cotton, etc.)

Instructions:Cutting the Pieces
1. Outer Layer: Cut two pieces of fabric for the outer layer, each measuring 20 inches wide by 15 inches high.
2. Inner Layer: Cut two pieces of fabric for the inner layer, each measuring 18 inches wide by 14 inches high.
3. Earplaps: Cut four pieces of fabric for the earflaps, each measuring 10 inches wide by 5 inches high.
4. Hat Brim: Cut one piece of fabric for the hat brim, measuring 10 inches wide by 5 inches high.
5. Fusible Interfacing: (Optional) If desired, cut two pieces of fusible interfacing, each measuring 18 inches wide by 14 inches high.
Assembling the Earflaps
1. Fold each earflap piece in half lengthwise, right sides together.
2. Sew the short ends together with a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
3. Turn the earflaps right side out.
Assembling the Hat Lining
1. If using fusible interfacing, iron it onto the wrong side of one of the inner layer pieces.
2. Place the interfaced inner layer piece on top of the remaining inner layer piece, right sides together.
3. Sew around the edges with a 1/4-inch seam allowance, leaving a 3-inch opening at the bottom.
4. Turn the lining right side out through the opening.
5. Press the edges of the opening under and topstitch closed.
Assembling the Hat
1. Place the outer layer pieces right sides together and sew around the edges with a 1/4-inch seam allowance, leaving a 3-inch opening at the back of the hat.
2. Turn the hat right side out.
3. Insert the lining into the hat, matching up the edges.
4. Sew around the top edges of the hat with a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
5. Tuck the raw edges of the opening under and topstitch closed.
Attaching the Brim
1. Fold the brim piece in half lengthwise, wrong sides together.
2. Sew the short ends together with a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
3. Turn the brim right side out.
4. Sew the brim to the bottom edge of the hat, aligning the raw edges.
Attaching the Earflaps
1. Position the earflaps on the sides of the hat, about 2 inches from the front edge.
2. Pin the earflaps in place.
3. Sew the earflaps to the sides of the hat with a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
Tips:
